Glinka: Kamarinskaja (Fantasy on two Russian Folk Songs)

Michail Glinka (1804-1857) was the founder of the national school of Russian music and as such his compositions are often based on Russian folk music. This is also applicable to ‘Kamarinskaja’, for which he used a subdued wedding song and a stirring folk dance.
