Beschrijving

Julius Fucik, the famous march composer, was born in Prague in 1872. One of his most popular Marches “Einzug der Gladiatoren” (Entry of the Gladiators) was written in 1899. From 1910 to 1913, Fucik was kapellmeister of the infantry regiment 92 in Terezín (his Bohemian home), before he married and moved to Berlin, where he founded a band and a music publishing company (“Tempo Publishing”). Only three years later, he died at the age of 44.
