The Sinfonia is the opening of the second part of the Christmas Oratorio: `Am zweiten Weihnachtsfeiertage´. This romantic piece of music was in the tradition of the shepherd music as set by Italian composers as Corelli , Manfredini and Tartini. Typical for the Pastorale as a genre was the 6/8 or 12/8 beat and the `siciliano´ rhythm.
