De Amerikaanse soul music groep Earth, Wind and Fire, opgericht in 1970 door zanger en slagwerker Maurice White, kende vanaf 1975 een internationale loopbaan. Vooral de koperblazers vielen op bij de spectaculaire shows die een fusie van jazz en funk brachten. Manfred Schneider maakte een leuk arrangement voor harmonieorkest waarin hij de succes-songs Fantasy, I’ll Write A Song For You en Boogie Wonderland verwerkte.
