Vivaldi’s depiction of Autumn, here transcribed for Flute by James Galway. The piece begins with the peasants dancing and singing their thanks for the good harvest. During the festivities, one man drinks too much and become a little wild but he soom falls into a deep sleep and peace and rest overtake all the joyous peasants. At dawn the hunter appears with his horn, hound and gun. The prey appears and the chase is on. Fatigued and wounded, the prey falls and dies.
